Love this! I do repeating prints too.
Fabdonkulous is my new favoritest word.
Gorgeous paint color. What shade/brand is that?
Where'd you get the rabbit art?!
Awesome! Love those paintings!
Love it and those repeating paintings :)
Where did you get the T.V. and does it work?
Obsessed with the Gainsborough Paint-by-numberses. Totally brilliant both in general and as a cluster with all the variations. I just had to take a deep breath and step away from the ebay, but I may have to start searching for my own. Congrats on a gorgeous entry.
I love this color. Can you post the color name and brand?
Gorgeous. Love the paint color and the repeating paintings. Absolutely fabdonkulous.
thumbs up for living in my hometown :)
really nice style here.. id never have it in my place but i love the theme and how everything just fits well together... great eye and design A+++!
The rabbit!
Maybe it's just because I just wrote a comment about scary movies on another post, but the repeated paintings remind me of "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".
This is the most beautiful hall I’ve seen. Love the phone, the ceramic elephant (I have one all white), the blue chair, the doors, the blue walls,….It’s fab!
I love it! The multiple Blue Boys are hilarious. I see at least a half dozen anytime I go antiquing but would never have thought to start collecting them like this. This room is funky and interesting and a great use of color.
Damn, I love that angry bunny.
Thanks!! Benjamin Moore custom color, here's the formula:
RX-3/4
BB-1x2.5
TG-24
Base: 215-3B (quart size)
flat finish
I believe the TV was found on the side of the road, and I don't think it works. Form over function here, I guess! :)
The golds and bronzes look like a modern take on yellow in that blue setting--bravo!
OBSESSED with those blue boys!!!!
The Gilded Rabbit is by Sullivan Dunn, an artist based in Wilmington NC. www.sullivandunn.com (still building the site) or try seeking her out on Facebook.
I love it! The colors all complement one another in just the right locations and proportions. The white and yellow flowered cushions must have some sweet memories of a larger context from the past. It is functional with the hanging pegs and one can imagine breaks in the plaster that have been kindly healed. All in all a warm, inviting space. Well done!
I totally feel the same way about the PBNs and eBay! Just the simple fact that paint by numbers exist of the Gainsborough painting makes me chuckle. HiLo come crashing together! I also just really truly love how paint by numbers look. "Oh, eBay. You foul temptress. Time does not exist in the vortex of eBay. But golden elephant telephones and Blue Boy PBNs do."
Oh how right you are, Bobcatt. Circa 1970, our family room sofa. How I wish it still existed! My mother was brilliant to save the cushions, though. The chair and the oval print are also from Mom. Thanks Mom! Speaking of cracks, if you look really closely in the upper left corner of the room you can see a huge gaping hole in the plaster wall showing the lathe that I chose to just leave and paint over. Thanks for your comments!
Weow heow...I lock it!
Very very interesting and fresh! Clever collecting choice & the room looks like it could have been out of a 50s House Beautiful mag; tho I wonder if they frowned on showing "a television set". FWIW, I'd love to find a working round tube color set. I've favorited this Funka d'awsome room.
ps. White McCoy vase? Not painted, I hope.
LOVE the TV!!
Good eye! Yes, it is McCoy, not painted.
Absolutely lovely moody room! My favorite colour!
Scarrrrrrrry!!! Love the blue not the boy!
What a gorgeous room. Simply beautiful. (Is that a Santa coat?)
Love it! I also love 'Fabdonkulous!' - and plan on 'borrowing' the word, just like S Rodhe Hill! The peacockishly flamboyant colors & the equally peacockishness (hey, I can make up words too o.O) of the blue boy's pose are perfect together. How can you not love this? Oh, the bunny. Yes. The Bunny. ;D
the perfect blue to compliment the boys!
Hurray for the boys! I love multiples. And I love the Giant Bunny too
Jill,
Where did you get your rug? I have one just like it but larger that I snagged at a resale shop and have no information on it. I am so in love with it but would love to know more about the rugs we have if you know anything. Thanks!
Sorry, I don't know much about the rug. It was a hand me down from my husband's parents and they, too, received it as a hand me down from his grandmother. Seems like it is early 20th century persian-ish? I trolled around eBay and Etsy but could not find one with that violet coloring.
You spotted Mrs. Claus! That is a vintage Norwegian coat from my favorite vintage spot Stephan's in Atlanta.
Hilarious! If you ever make it out to Cali, you'll have to visit home of the original Blue Boy at the Huntington (and his friend Pinkie.) ;}

Yes, yes, yessity YES! Great colors, great combination. Bold, brave, creative, classy, and with a touch of organized hilarity. A work of art, to be sure. This room celebrates COLOR in a way that none of the other rooms I've seen even approximate. You got my vote. Hope you win!
Lorelski, I have been trying for days to craft the perfect response to your perfect comment but I give up. Let me just say you make me feel like a CHAMPION! Thank you so much, really. I have already won having received that comment. I've got Freddie Mercury in my head...yes yessity YES!
I LOVE Blue Boy!!!! I have his image in my house too, but not in that genius way you have them all together! OMG how awesome! Nothing can top that! Am I gushing? Yes. Blue Boy does that to me.
Love. This. Room.
I am way behind the curve on loving this room.... HOW did you get the fabulous rabbit to hang on the mirror?
