Joakeen's "Dream Big" Room

My Room

Name: Joakeen (2.5)
Location: Montreal, Canada

What a pleasure it was to do this bedroom, from the wallpaper to the fabrics and the furniture: fun fun fun! There is nothing predictably child like about this room, you surely won't find Spider-man or Mickey mouse on the wallpaper here. I wanted to create a vibrant space that could grow with him.

The Fatboy bean bag has been a great addition to the space, ideal to lounge, relax and do story time I'm very happy with how the night stand turned out (7 coats of paint later...). Its new orange colour and fun handles make it a unique one of a kind piece (Best part is: it only cost 20$ at a second hand store).

I think all kids should have shelves like these, from IKEA, for their books. I love that the covers are facing forward, what a great splash of color! The bed was a priceless find, although a little scuffed I love that it's over 100 years old and has so much history... Not another one like this in the world, I think.

I'm also really pleased with the gallery wall with that majestic yet docile tiger (his Chinese sign), the words "Dream Big" make me smile every time I see them, how inspiring! The little table below will eventually be replace by a "big boy" desk he can do his homework on (probably something vintage).
