Apartment Therapy and The Kitchn are looking for a web engineer to join our small (but awesomely effective) technology team, building tools to help our millions of monthly readers make their homes more beautiful, healthy & organized.
We seek an experienced back-end web engineer who is comfortable working at every layer of the web stack. Our team is geographically dispersed (you can work from wherever you are), so the ability to communicate well over chat and email is key. Ideally, you have strong ruby (and Rails) chops and an interest in building community-centric tools and/or image processing.
We are a team of active learners and we maintain a supportive team culture. We have invested a great deal in optimizing our development & deployment toolchain, including extensive monitoring and systems management tools. We ship code every day. This last year we paid down our technical debt credit card and are iterating rapidly on our newly tightened up stack. We're excited for another hand to join us in delivering a continually improved experience for our audience. Our company is bootstrapped, profitable and growing steadily.
To apply, please email email@example.com outlining briefly how you see yourself contributing to our team. Please include a résumé and relevant links (e.g., github profile, stackoverflow profile, work you are proud of).
Please, no recruiters nor agencies. US persons only.
