Name: Joe and Sveta
Location: West Village — New York, New York
Size: 1,600 square feet, two-bedroom
Years lived in: 3
Joe and Sveta say that they work seamlessly when designing their home together. Joe's prowess as a successful furniture designer, does not seem to intimidate his wife, a branding strategist.

Joe and Sveta's tastes align. They like scavenging in upstate junk stores as much as they do the high end showrooms in Soho. Sveta keeps abreast of new ideas in the design world as much as, if not more so, than Joe and he is quite open to her insights and suggestions.
Joe uses the high ceilings and open space of the apartment to experiment with his designs before they go into production. He likes how well his recent experiment with designing an oversized lamp fits into the high-ceilinged living space. Joe's designs pepper his and Sveta's home, providing personalization with precision.

Sprout Side Table
Very cool, but why is all the art hung so high?
Sweet place, totally on the same page as ChicagoD. I wish there had been more shots of the place, or even shots of the bathroom... I did enjoy the bike system though!!
Don’t let good taste and high design oppress you. nice.
and nice place. I'm especially digging the entry area and that piece of art near the bike racks.
What's the reed-looking thing on the bedroom balcony made of?
erg, my apologies about the italics. Was just supposed to be the first line.
Ha - I know exactly what this building this is. My friends have a loft with the EXACT same layout. Very nice place. I like the master bedroom in the loft - it looks very peaceful.
Very nice, I think a slightly more modern railing on the upper loft would have been a great ivestment
I do appreciate your style, but there are too many horizontal lines and small items for my liking. The thing this space really lacks is a huge statement piece... something to draw the eye up.
Other than that, looks like an inviting space.
Love the place. Anybody know where the dining room chairs are from?
I had the same exact thought as ChicagoD--the art is too high. Otherwise, this apartment is adorable. Why do so many people, including interior designers, hang art so high? It's a pet peeve of mine. It looks so much better hung low!
What restaurant supply store is the dining table from? I assume somewhere on Bowery, right?
Love the place...
Question though. The kid gets the bedroom and the parents get the one out in the open? Any privacy issues with that?

Great pad! Love the color-coordinated books on the shelf and the pulley system for the bikes. Perfect marriage of form and function!
love it! where is that super cute red box with the red cross on it from?
This is a very cool apartment but I think it offers additional design opportunities that have not yet been explored. For example, the railing on the mezzanine seems bland and out of step with the creativity of the owners. There are many cool options for railings that would be more harmonious with the rest of the apartment (and more interesting). In addition, the scale of the pieces selected seems a bit off - the pieces are dwarfed by the high ceilings (an effect exacerbated by the high placement of the art). Maybe a statement piece that brings the look together would help.
how in the world do you eat at that double-level table?
Massively charming! Your place crisp, clean and organized, yet is also warm and inviting...wonderfully balanced in colors, scale, shapes! <3
I usually hate red accent walls, but I really, really, REALLY like this. I have no idea why, but I think it looks awesome. And I usually hate high-hung art, but for some reason it works here. Maybe because it seems deliberate, like they meant to break a rule (as opposed to not actually *knowing* the rule). And, of course, I love all of the books.
Does anyone know where the Tv stand comes from? I am looking for something like that
I love this so much! So cute, love the colors, love the artwork and how it is placed, love the paint colors, and it's so neat just how I like it. I want to live someplace like this in 10 yrs.
Just gorgeous! I get it with the high hung art, looks great. But where did that fabulous chair in photo 33 come from? It's the bomb! And cute doggie!
whats that beige paint color used in the dining area? it's lovely.
Joe & Sveta, it's not cool to never respond to any of these questions.
