John Beck Steel makes a compact modern industrial firepit that can be used indoors and out.
It's fueled by canned alcohol gel, which will burn for 3-4 hours and produces no fumes, smoke or ash. For evening outdoor fires, it is also available in citronella.
The height is 18 inches, with a 14" diameter, meaning it will be an easy fit for smaller outside spaces such as balconies or urban patios, unlike many other fire pits.
It can be ordered in different finishes - black patina, brushed steel, rust patina, natural black and raw steel.
John's easy instructions:
1. Remove fire pit lid.
2. Open cans of fuel gel.
3. Replace fire pit lid.
4. Light fuel gel.
5. Enjoy!
Priced at $390., it is available direct from John Beck Steel or through Zella Brown here in Chicago.

Another DIY to add to my list.
Excuse me sir, but your end table is on fire.
Doesn't it sort of remind you of a metal trash can fire?
