John De Lorenzo Bros. Welding

This is a hot tip. Dante has a vintage Eames management chair that broke a few weeks back, and she wanted to fix it rather than toss it. She found John De Lorenzo Bros on Grand Street and carried her chair down there this week. They did a quick weld and charged her $25. Now it's good as new and back in service. Good furniture can do that.

John De Lorenzo Bros is an old time welding outfit (amazing they are still in SoHo!) that does custom work for artists, architects, businesses and regular folks who need their metal taken care of. They advertise "iron & shaping galvanized sheet metal" but they have no website and you should call them before you head down.
