We have long admired John Derian's work, but our budget hasn't allowed us to actually buy any of his pieces. Well, Target is our savior once again. Derian's collection for the retailer launches on September 7. Additional pieces will be added about a week later, and they will all be available for a limited-time only.

Rather than glass, Derian's line with Target consists of melamine and acrylic platters and paperweights that are digitally printed to look like his high-end decoupage work. But we actually like the Target materials because in addition to being budget-friendly they're dishwasher-safe.
The collection will also include scrapbook kits, frames, photo albums, gift bags, wall art and vases. The price range? Just $1.99-29.99. Not bad when you consider that his paperweights which feature layers of images beneath handblown glass usually retail for $30.

wow, I think. I'll have to check this out.
holy beans! I had always had him on my "dream list" of designers to do a line for Target. I never thought I'd actually see it happen! I love it.
Does anyone else have a "dream list" for budget-design lines at target or otherwise?
Fornasetti.

Must check this out!
been anxiously awaiting this...
I really like the bird and the one on the bottom right. I hope my target stocks these!
I've been obsessively checking Target's website a couple times a day for the past week or so hoping they'd have a preview of some of the items. Nothing yet. :\
