The pergola that hangs over the gorgeous wood table and benches offers great shade but, better yet, ample privacy. Not only are all the plants and flowers gorgeous year round, but the green grass offers a relaxing place to lay out in the sun.
I love that John has created outdoor luxury that is comfortable and perfect for every day enjoyment. He really wanted to design a space that was styled, even though it's outside, so he brought pieces that were designed for "indoor" to the outdoors. The mirror, the Trina Turk pillows and the porcelain garden stool all add elements of colorful richness to an otherwise monochromatic palette.

wow, I wish I had a space to do this with. Can I vacation in your backyard? This is great!
My entire backyard is about the size of that patio, but I'm stealing some ideas. I love that mirror. Since I'm in an urban wasteland, I might try to get a mirror that I can reflect the sky from - and a more attractive fire pit/fireplace that can also be decorative.
oh my....
WANT.
Gorgeous! I especially love the large mirror hung outside. I did the same thing, except I hung a mirror on my screened-in front porch, so that it was facing all the pretty trees outside. What better thing to reflect than the beauty of the outdoors? I wish my backyard looked like this though!
What a gorgeous retreat! Thank you for adding these photos.
What a great use of space.
Truly amazing yard. Love it, love it, love it!!!!
Love you too
I love this space! Thanks for sharing.
this is STUNNING! We couldn't get away with all the beautiful furnishings outside in FL since it rains so much. Amazing job!
Love it! And these photos convince me that the Trina Turk pillows are worth every penny. I'm off to order some in my favorite print for my backyard!
Wow. Can I spend my whole summer here?! I love the feeling of lush coziness and shady coolness.
What a gem! This is an example of making a smallish yard really work for you. I have a bit more space, but the slope away from the house to a fence makes this kind of layout impractical at the least... I'm kind of jealous!
I like this space, but it's an old tour that was done already. Not that I mind looking at it again, but why the re-post? And without the rest of the house (which was interesting, too.)
So inviting...I want to be there to read a book with a glass of wine!!!
Fantastic! Such a nice job of mixing styles to create a whole look.
