Location: Ligne Roset, 440 North Wells, Chicago, IL Date: Thursday, June 24, 6-8pm

Hey, everyone, next Thursday night I'm starting my transcontinental book tour with a presentation and book signing at Ligne Roset in Chicago.

If you're reading this and in Chicago, I hope that you'll come down to say hello, have some fine drinks, check out my presentation and buy a fresh, hot copy of the Big Book. They're also be a number of new Ligne Roset designs on display (see below) as well as the sleeper sofa I've admired for years. Please RSVP here if you even THINK you can make it.

Thanks to Ligne Roset for being my host next week. In return, I want to give them a shout out below by drawing attention to a few cool new items and a sale they've got going on right now as they celebrate their 150th birthday.

Check out two 150-piece multicolored limited editions of Pierre Paulin's Pumpkin armchair.

This armchair, directly inspired by the one Pierre Paulin designed for Claude and Georges Pompidou in 1971 for the drawing rooms of the Elysée Palace, was first issued and made available to the general public by Ligne Roset in 2008.

Each designer chair by Pierre Paulin bears a special label numbered from 1 to 150 and the logo "150 ans Ligne Roset" ("150 years Ligne Roset"). The 300 units are available worldwide starting in June 2010.

And this sofa line, Confluences, is just plain pretty.

Confluences may be considered to be a trailblazer in terms of the new trend for 'counterforms' as characterised by the interwoven yin-yang or puzzle-type effect. It will be just as pleasing to lovers of radical design, pioneers searching for a sofa which is totally different from any other, as it will to all those who are seduced first and foremost by the freedom of posture and unheard-of conviviality offered by its colorful, unbridled compositions.
