Chicago's Venus zine
recently crowned Jonathan Adler
a Sex Bomb in its summer issue. In an interview with Jen Hazen, Adler talks about his most recent loves and inspirations: Palm Beach WASPy style - acid green, needlepoint, Greek key patterns; Big Sur Hippie Dippie style - natural wood, hand-loomed alpaca throws; and Pop Art's punchy style - orange, groovy graphics.
The article isn't availble on Venus online, so you'll have to check out the magazine in the flesh (hurry, the Fall issue is quickly approaching). You'll learn about Adler's connection with Aid to Artisans (the organization through which he found his Peruvian workshops), his top three designers of all time (Bonnie Cashin, Alexander Girard, and Bjorn Wiinblad), and that orange is hot, hot, hot...and so is his "sex bomb" status.
