A laptop sleeve is not only protective insurance against scratches and dings, it's also an opportunity to showcase a little fashionable personality, especially when you design and construct the accessory yourself like this rivet-ing little number from Oh Happy Day...

San Francisco blogger, Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day, sourced some scrap leather in a shade of blue which would have warmed Martha Stewart's robin's egg-tinted heart:

This project is as easy as it gets. The materials and process are very simple and the whole thing can be done in less than an hour. It is one piece of leather bound together on both sides by simple brass rivets.
Speaking of Martha, a little while back we spotlighted a similar DIY leather project for the iPad, but instead of rivets, you'll be sewing the sleeve up with plastic lacing (a great opportunity for some fashionable contrast stitching):

Somewhere between Jordan and Martha's leather-working DIY projects is this leather laptop sleeve project from Chaneciaga, lovingly made for her boyfriend and his MacBook.
