A wall of books on white bookshelves usually does not require any additional color as the book spines provide ample. So the rest of the room is mainly white, but I added vivid details such as lamps and mid-century trays to make it more young and alive.
Colors used in my room:
White, greige, red, yellow
Tips for using color successfully:
Vivid colors need to be harmonious together, or they will look loud, vulgar, and cause an attack on the senses. This does not mean they all need to be slight variations of each other; complementary colors do work together (opposites on the round color chart).
