If you missed seeing Judy Niedermaier's incredible home in Sunday's Tribune Magazine (the Home Design issue), worry not. There's a very cool version of the story online now, with a video tour of the designer's highrise loft. Titled The Joy of Moving, the article is about Niedermaier's love for paring down possessions. She's moved three times in ten years, and her current home is a clutter-free space decorated with her firm's signature clean-lined furniture. (Pictured Left: Pierre Chair)
Our favorite is the sitting room, where Niedermaier tries out new pieces before they hit the market. The room is so open that furniture takes on the bold scale of sculpture.
Besides owning one of the most well-known Chicago furniture studios, Judy Niedermaier has an eye for local talent. Her collection features designs by Nate Berkus, Richard Hunt and Luke Wong, among others.
