Name: Julianne Kelly
Location: Donnybrook - Dublin, Ireland
I am an interior designer who recently has taken over my family business. I live in a townhouse near the city center of Dublin, Ireland. My previous house was all varying shades of creams and now I never want to see that color again! For this house I went for lots of grey with strong vibrant punches of fuschia, chartreuse and purple.
I am a big fan of wallpaper as I feel it brings a lot of warmth, depth and texture to a room. I used lots of fabrics and wallpapers from my favorite design houses including Jim Thompson, Manuel Canovas, JAB, Andrew Martin, Designer Guild and Elitis. Oh, and not to forget Missoni.
As my house is small, I wanted each room to flow into the next - for example, the wallpaper in the hall is by Elitis and has a reptile type pattern. This same pattern is how the bathroom suite is finished, albeit in white ceramic. For paintwork I used Zoffany paints and carpets are by Lano.
Thanks, Julianne!

White Enamel Four-P...
I love this. It's perfect.
Love the wallpapers, and the textures throughout. Also, that backs plash in your kitchen, glass I think, is to die for. You can decorate my place any day. :)
I couldn't live with those rabid pinks, but I appreciate the verve :)
Now I want a purple kitchen.
That striped couch is crazy awesome!! Love all the pops of color. Very well done!
The kitchen is super gorgeous!! Love everything in your house
NOT FAIR. This requires a full house tour.
Not my choice of colors but I loved every room; every piece of furniture, the cooll ass 'face' wall paper and the sweet bird stencil. I agree that the sofa is just super cool.
Even with bold colors, this feels so welcoming, warm and friendly. Nice job.
To her credit: the bold colors have texture. However, this all looks very matchy matchy and decoratory to me. But I love the term "rabid pinks."
AWESOME!!!!
Wow, love your design. I just bought a condo and have been wondering about window treatments, please please let me know where I can find similar window treatments as yours here in the US?
Thx!
Amaaazing. Loving the colors, textures, prints. Beautiful!
Now you know you have to a full house tour of this candy coated dream!
That backsplash is boss.
Love it!
Love the colors. I'm trying to pull together a color scheme in my apartment with pink and yellow and its really tough!
Rabid Pinks sounds like a great band. I love your funky couch and sense of style.
I got for calm and minimal (bland cream) at home, but only because I need it to be my escape from everything else. I do love your colours.
I like the Fornesetti wallpaper and the couch. Everything is nice but I especially like those two things. Great job! You earned a gold star
Very well done. Took a lot of nerve, but the verve paid off!
I do love your exciting house, the purples and yellows are balanced beautifully with white. I have a small suggestion, I would also paint the fireplace surround white, the yellow/beige brick stands out and I think bringing the white from the wall unit across the room would work for you..
Julianne, I adore your house, and my favourites are your sofa. Backsplash colour, and they yellow. It all comes together, and the colours are not rabid, Rabid means extreme , and this is anything but. I would not paint the brick fireplace, sacrilege. The only thing that would I think have improved it is a better photo of the living part with fireplace, the photo lacks dept of field, so everything appears compressed. But I know its not like this.
Wish you would help me with my tiny apartment.
Well done and I do not think its at all decoratish or matchy matchy, the photos and stuff add a really warm touch.
As an American living in Dublin can I just say kudos to you for abandoning the cream? I swear it's in every apartment on Daft!
But really, lovely home! You have excellent taste!
I love your back splash! I'm looking for something similar but maybe in an aubergine. I live in Limerick. Where did you get yours?
I want to see this reptile pattern! Such a tease to describe it and not show it...
Thanks for the comments everyone...loving the rabid pink comment - had to google image it but get the idea. Apartment Therapy have asked for a full tour so I'll send on photos of upstairs and I've also just finished the garden.
Moss and Stone, totally agree. Can't stand the amount of houses here that have cream walls, wooden floors and leather sofas. With these rubbish weather we need some colour to cheer us up. If you're ever passing my showroom Kevin Kelly Interiors in Donnybrook pop in and say hi
Glad to see that a full tour is in the works -- I like almost everything here, especially the wallpaper. But I would kill for that vast shelf-space, chuck out the myriad picture frames, and fill every inch with books.
julianne you sure have an amazing talent to combine these unusual colors, even if they stood alone. a combination of the two is extremely hard to pull off but you nailed it! I agree that the fireplace in creamy tones does stand out and that it would look better painted white. other than that, kudos!
Love it! What brand of cabinets are in your kitchen?
Hi Rkpteden,
They're from http://www.pronorm.de/
Hope this helps
i couldn't live with this (I'm one of those dreaded 'beige' and 'earth tone' people), but I'm glad that places like this are out there. It's very well done and I appreciate variety in life!
Love this bright and cheerful apartment! I never would have put these colors together but they work so well!
Hi Julianne,
Beautiful job! Just wondering if you could let me know where you got your dining table?
Thanks for any help!
