Name: Julia Cristina
Location: Washington DC
My sister asked me to redecorate her bedroom — since we are on a tight budget (she is 17) we decided to do most of the changes by painting the walls, color coordinating, and finding alternative uses for old furniture sitting around the house.
Her new "bedside table" is a plain chair painted to match the bed, and the mirror was a gaudy, gold plated mirror we painted white. We also painted the low ceilings the same as the wall to make them seem higher. Art work was made by my very talented sister.
The goal was to keep everything really crisp, natural and clean to discourage mess and knick knack accumulation.
Thanks Julia!

Lovely! What paint and color did you use for the walls?
Lucky girl! The bedroom is beautiful. Budget or no budget, you did a fabulous job.
Really love this. And there is a really great balance of yin-yang, plants, and light that all creates a good feng shui atmosphere. I am a big fan of utilizing what we already have but recreating it in a fresh way.
:)
So fantastic! What a lucky woman she is. Really sophisticated yet relaxing and not stuffy. Way to go.
Pretty! So many times they try to turn teenager's rooms into a gaudy neon explosion. This is feminine and casual and sophisticated. Very nice.
Gorgeous, calm colors. Great job you two!
Love it ! Though it might be because my bedroom kinda looks the same ... Hehe.
That UO bedspread is so cute, love that color match.
The vanity is very pretty. Did you paint that for this project or was it always like that?
Gorgeous, I wish I could say I had such a well-kept bedroom at 17!
I love The Phantom Tollbooth! Good choice in literature, and what a beautiful room. You did a great job.
i love that bedding! where is it from?
I wish Julia would answer our questions. Paint color? Bedding? Please!
The bed is from Ikea, bed covers from Urban Outfitters, and all of the paint (blues) is from Behr.

Very, very nice. Many have done less with a bigger budget
Thanks, Sophia!
Sisterly love - at it's nicest. Keep it up girls!
What kind of plant is sitting on the vanity? And I love the bedspread also...I will be looking for it at Urban Outfitters!
Where did you buy the vanity and bench. I've been looking for a mirrored vanity just like this one. Simply gorgeous!
I second that! I would love to find a mirrored desk/vanity!
P.S. Love this room...
Julia

ps, my 2 lg. & sm. orchids (from a friend) bloom non-stop,
