I have been involved in design for over 20 years. First as a Clothing Designer (when I 19), then as Home Stager, and now as an Interior Designer. I am inspired by a wonderful house with good bones, old floors and moldings. Although I can be just as moved by a little appartment filled with someones treasures and sheer resourcefulness.
I love the ordinary, the elaborate, the colorful and the pale. Finding the right mix is what keeps inspired to design.

I love the orange tile in the kitchen and the paneled walls - and the oversized pillow on the couch is an unusual choice...
...but am I the only one who finds the yellow "FUN" on the vintage Steinway a rather juvenile/tacky variation on the tired decorative-word cliche?

I love the light in the kitchen and your robin's egg blue cabinet...we have similar aesthetics, and career paths, although mine haven't been fully traveled yet...I would love to see more of your home! :) Thanks for sharing.

and up close the words look odd but maybe the words are WAY smaller than they seem and don't look so bad farther away and seen with the rest of the room.
