What I Love About My Small Home:
I love my home's vintage European charm. It is a Mediterranean style apartment that was built in 1930 and is definitely a rare gem in the city. I love many features of my home, including: the original terrazzo flooring, 10' ceilings, large windows, arched doorways, exposed beams, open living room, small bedroom and so much more. The character of my home perfectly compliments my lifestyle and personality!
Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
For the first year and a half of living in my apartment, I had a huge problem with the lack of storage, especially since my home is a live and work space. Since then, have grown to to really appreciate it because it disciplined me to simply live with less. Besides lightening my load of belongings, I solved this storage problem by using: a garment rack and large cabinet in the bedroom (for clothing, shoes, and personal items), a WWII footlocker as a coffee table (for misc. storage), modular cabinets as an entertainment center (for speakers, books, movies, and tools), a compact desk/cabinet, and a second WWII footlocker as well as a 1920s wardrobe truck (for work storage).
