- What I Love About My Small Home:
- I love my home's vintage European charm. It is a Mediterranean style apartment that was built in 1930 and is definitely a rare gem in the city. I love many features of my home, including: the original terrazzo flooring, 10' ceilings, large windows, arched doorways, exposed beams, open living room, small bedroom and so much more. The character of my home perfectly compliments my lifestyle and personality!
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- For the first year and a half of living in my apartment, I had a huge problem with the lack of storage, especially since my home is a live and work space. Since then, have grown to to really appreciate it because it disciplined me to simply live with less. Besides lightening my load of belongings, I solved this storage problem by using: a garment rack and large cabinet in the bedroom (for clothing, shoes, and personal items), a WWII footlocker as a coffee table (for misc. storage), modular cabinets as an entertainment center (for speakers, books, movies, and tools), a compact desk/cabinet, and a second WWII footlocker as well as a 1920s wardrobe truck (for work storage).

Is this cool or what? I love the pops of red all over the monochromatic house.
I, too, like the pops of red. :-)
This is one of the most interesting spaces I've seen on AT, neat military design scheme without being too literal or forced. Love what you've done with the pops of red! One question though, are those screen doors above your bed? If so, is there some meaning/design element we're not getting through these pictures?
Really diggin' the flags!
Love your show of patriotism! Go USA...
Oh my goodness I love the terrazzo!
Love the bed and even the screen doors. Though I think they would work better with some minimal pattern behind them.
And go Japan! Go Red Cross!
I like everything except the swivel beauty shop chair; it just seems out of place. But a very comfortable soothing looking place.
I feel like you really need a rug in your living room.
And curious about what is hanging on your bedroom wall?? Are they just paintings? Or...?
I have a weakness for flags in decor. LOVE them. well done on the flag-front. :)
I've hidden a couple in my place. shhh.
Very cute! I love how open it is.
great style
it feels very young determined activist. A good start, like the red and the WWII posters, maybe some rugs?
agree with an earlier comment, if you had a large rug, bold enough to make a statement, you would really make this room pop!
