Name & Location: Julie in St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia
My Favorite Room: Living Room
Specs: 19.35 square meters/208 square feet

When I inspected this apartment for the first time a few months ago and walked into the living room, I had a very clear vision of what it should look like. The room is spacious, but very square for a combined living/dining area, which made finding the right sized furniture more difficult. Budget was tight, but to my surprise, after a few months of hunting for second hand furniture bargains, I've ended up with the exact room I wanted from the beginning.

I wanted my living room to be clean and airy but bohemian at the same time, so I chose Mid Century furniture pieces for their clean lines, and added plants and a Kilim rug for some warm and life.

My living room is the first thing I see when I walk through the door every day. It's the place where I entertain friends and family. I love this space - the high ceilings and period details, the art deco mantel, and of course, all the pieces of second hand furniture I painstakingly purchased from all over Melbourne.
