Green with Envy. That is how new AT Green Home Editor Stephanie titled her post on Dwight Way, a nine-unit complex in her city of Berkeley.

We agree - it is a jealousy inducing place to live, a combination of style and smart thinking, beauty and health, a great looking, earth friendly home.

It's inspiring - and we think it can be done in every home - little by little we can "green" our home life along with making it more beautiful, organized and healthy.

By sharing our ideas and experiences about color, furniture, window treatments, lighting, floor coverings, organization, cleaning, and cooking (among other things) here at AT we help each other make our homes places we are happy to live in and proud to share with others - there is no reason why this won't be the same when sharing our ways of making our home lives more "green".

Knowing that someone else in the AT community has made a change toward a more earth-friendly way of doing things makes a big difference in implementing the same change in our home - knowing how they did it, how hard (or easy) it is, how much it costs and how they feel about it is amazingly powerful information.

We have been enjoying Green Home month across all of the AT sites for this reason: it gives us hope.

We can see how all of these ideas, all of this energy can make a difference - as each of the thoughts and designs are added to our consciousness, it becomes more likely that we will start to implement the ideas and come up with even more good ones - we can do this!

We will continue to blog "green" as our focus this month but won't stop there - each of the AT sites - including AT Chicago, naturally, will keep it up as we move forward and we'd love to hear from you. Please let us know what you are doing to live green at home - we're more than happy to pass on the good word to the readers here in Chicago and add it to our ever growing AT Green Home site.
