Don't get too excited - this babywalker is just a concept. But hey, some concept. At the very least maybe it will inspire "the industry" to reimagine the walker or, dare to dream, the exersaucer.

That is a very cool design and I would love to see (all) exersaucer-type products redesigned.
But baby walkers are just plain dangerous and it has been proven repeatedly that they are more likely to delay walking than encourage walking. The Academy of Pediatrics recommends that they be banned.
They are already banned -- in Canada. Have been for many years. Too many babies have died as a result of walkers.
While I completely agree that excercaucers need a serious redesign... Walkers are completely dangerous no matter how good they look.
and yes - they have been banned in Canada. with good reason.
at least this is only a concept.
I still would not buy it as baby walkers are very dangerous .I actually took a tumble down a flight of stairs in one as a baby. Also, they have been shown to delay walking. Neat looking or not, a walker is not necessary.
Don't knock the walker too much! My brother has cerebral palsy and my mother found the walker to be a great tool. He was able to easily explore his surroundings without being frustrated by his physical limitations. Eventually he got the hang of walking and managing to balance, and i am not sure this product delayed his walking at all. If anything, it gave him impudence to learn to walk, even though the doctors said he never would!
I think this is fantastic. And if anyone bothered to read the website it's from, you would know it's designed to promote walking via a flexible seat, (as I understand it).
My 6 month old is tall for his age, almost 30", and very active, I'm finding the "exsersaucers" just not cuttin' it and he'll soon outgrow it's bouncing feature.
I would love a walker or ride-on toy designed for his age, still keeping in mind he needs restraints and safety harnesses.
BUt alas I live in Canada...I assure you I'd be a responsible parent keep him away from stairs.
