Layers of ladyfingers, oh my! We're in our initial stages of Thanksgiving dry-runs in preparation of the big chow day. Although this year, we thought we'd veer off the beaten track of a pumpkin pie, and try to make a trifle: layers of ladyfingers, custard, maybe chocolate, raspberry...We went on the hunt for a classy footed trifle dish, something to showcase our fine culinary talents with perfect layers...something like Crate and Barrel's Miranda Trifle Bowl.
For the record, all that yammering about perfect layers and fine culinary talents are a stretch of the imagination. The chocolate and raspberry? Definitely happening.
Now if only we could figure out a way to cut that first piece of trifle without demolishing the whole thing...(it's tricky when you think about it).
The Miranda Trifle Bowl is available at Crate and Barrel for $28.95

Grace--what a great idea. I'm drooling. Maybe not very thanksgiving-y but I totally want to make a tiramisu in this dish...
I have that trifle bowl and love it.
Not only does it look great as a fruit bowl it fits this recipe for a Raspberry, White Chocolate, and Almond trifle perfectly htp://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/233432. A very impressive dessert that even had non-dessert lovers going back for seconds.
Don't forget to add the layer of beef sauteed with peas and carrots. :)
Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
That is, if you want it to taste like feet. :p
