Generally we try not to take design TOO seriously around here. We all love it, are passionate about it, but we want to enjoy it. And, in the grand tradition of old school lady mags, there are plenty of quizzes online to help you figure out just what your style is (which we'll take over "what kind of bathing suit suits your shape" anyday).
Yesterday, Chris and I capped off an extra long workday with a quick, fun quiz (shown above) on HomeGoods. When I choose the 5 images honestly and from the heart, it said I'm Urban Funk with a Touch of Boho...and Chris was the same. Then I tried to choosing what I DIDN'T love and yowza, I agree - I am definitely NOT a "Sassy Socialite". Give it a go: Stylescope
Another favorite quiz of mine is on Sproost. It takes a little longer but seems to get pretty accurate results. Today it says I'm French Eclectic with a little Hollywood Couture and Modern Elegance thrown in. Oui! : Personal Style Quiz
Ethan Allen also has a photo-choosing based quiz that sorts you into one of their "signature lifestyles" It says I'm "Modern" - ok, I'll take it: What's Your Signature
If you take any of the quizzes, share your results below, and feel free to share links to any other fun online quizzes that you know of...

White Enamel Flatwa...
Urban Funk, Vintage Modern, and Modern. No surprises there.
Whimsical..each room has something to smile about. My home clean and orderly but not fussy-Children and animals are ALWAYS welcomed.
Farmhouse Glam, Rustic Revival and Romantic. Pretty true to form.
You linked to your results.
Cavale - fixed! thanks
New Country. Never heard of it, but I like it. Poifect.
Stylescope: Farm House Glam and Urban Funk...exactly what is Urban Funk?
Sproost: 75% French Eclectic and 25% Rustic Revival.
Ethan Allen: Elegance...ehhh...let me try that again...Vintage now..I like those photos better I'll take it.
Now I have to go figure out this urban funk thing..
I learned something new about myself, mine are Vegas Babay, Vintage Modern, Explorer.
That's crazy, I never thought I like glam.
I thought it would be Shabby no Chic, Apathetic, Angst ridden
Homegoods: Traveler with a touch of urban funk
Sproost: French eclectic
Ethan Allen: modern
and a touch sassy. haha. i hope this has nothing do with my being from dallas.
Spa, Romance, Hollywood Couture. Quite a mix...
Spa Life, Arts and Crafts, Elegance.
'Twas fun to do, but I think the first and last tests are pretty vague.
Urban classic with a touch of classic.
40% vintage modern
40% contemporary
20% Hollywood couture
Elegance.
I think they all point to MSD (multiple style disorder) which I definitely have. If I were to describe the design of my house I'd say it's ecclectic/industrial/modern/vintage. I probably got pegged with elegance because I don't like frou-frou. And I can't stand French country or rustic design.
Just did the Stylescope one again, selecting photos that "spoke" to me but that I didn't select the first time. Got Traveler. The room depicted resembled mine a bit more than did the Spa Life one...so am I a Spa Life Traveler? Sounds like something to aspire to.
I'm coming up 100% French Eclectic (a/k/a French Country) on Sproost, and I love it! :)
I did five I liked - urban funk and boho. Then I did five I didn't like - urban funk and sassy. What is urban funk?
I was going to say "Grandma H" style. Her style was clean, simple linwa, comfortable, classic and she liked a lot of light colors, blues, greens and dark warm woods. Classy, chic but not expensive. My grandparents were not wealthy people but anyone who visited their house would have gotten the idea that they had taste and a knack for making the most out of what they had. Nothing looked old, worn or dated. It was simply curated. My grandparents had a second hand dining room set but it didn't look "vintage". It just looked like it belonged where it went in their little house.
Anyway, I took the quiz at Sproost and they tagged me as Modern Elegance. Sounds just about perfect.
These quizes were all pretty limiting according to the products they are trying to sell. There was not much in the way of mid-century.
Did Sproost again (it's not 100% the same rooms that come up, depending on your answers, so it's worth doing twice) because I missed the percentage split the first time. I came up 60% Traditional Asian and 40% Arts and Crafts. Pretty much right on the money for my home!
According to Sproost, I'm 67% Contemporary and 33% Hollywood Couture. Sounds pretty accurate to me!
Urban funk with a touch of classic, and rustic revival. Pretty good, internet!
I also got Urban Funk with a Touch of Boho, then 67% Hollywood Couture
33% Vintage Modern. I guess they both kind of mirror the same results in a way. Interesting. Makes me feel a little less all-over-the-place. :)
Ethan Allen's results are nuts, though. They have a vested interest in selling furniture that I don't like, so it shouldn't surprise me!
Classic and a touch of Farmhouse Glam.
33% Nantucket Style, 33% Rustic Revival, 34% French Eclectic.
Signature lifestyle: elegance and romance (repeated this one).
Classic (with a touch of Traveler), French Eclectic, and Romance. Seems like me, actually. But I think the first one is the best quiz.
BOHO! I did not know I was Boho, but the it was on spot with the definition. Everything it said I liked I did. First one of these types of quizzes I took that was on spot!
OH and a touch Sassy. Both pictures under the title were true of what I like.
Other quizzes Cottage Chic(not so much) and Explorer (yes)
Urban Funk with touch of New Country, Vintage Modern, and Modern. Touch of New Country is the only surprise.
Boho with a touch of classic. Not really surprised, since I'm just discovering my inner bohemian.
Also, Sproost says my style is French Eclectic, Classic, Wine Country Classic and Ethan Allen says I'm elegant. But, I most agree with Stylescope, I'm Boho with a touch of Classic (again, that inner Boho girl).
Homegoods: Urban Funk
Sproost: Vintage Modern
Ethan Allen: Elegance
This was fun :)
Stylescope: Traveler with a touch of Boho
Sproost: Cottage Chic (lots of white and natural woods & textures)
This is exactly how other people describe me and/or my style.
"a touch of Sassy" sounds like a hair color
Loved these little quizzes, thanks so much for sharing!
Modern that is warm and inviting and original.
Ha, Urban Funk with a touch of Boho (I'm totally NOT Boho).
It depends on the architecture. Nothing's worse than English Country in a Manhattan skyscraper with a view of the Chrysler building.
CLASSIC, FARM HOUSE AND A TOUCH OF BOHO.
Urban funk with a touch of classic, french eclectic, then elegance which I really didn't buy, so I tried again and got explorer.
fun ;)
Farmhouse Glam w/a touch of Classic
Cottage Chic/French Eclectic
Explorer
Interesting results. I was surprised by the farmhouse glam. However, all had touches that I definitely agreed with in the end.
Traveler with a bit of New Country and Boho. I'd never have thought of it in those terms, but it makes sense.
Urban Funk. Twice. I asked my boyfriend to take it. He just moved in with me and his bachelor bad was pretty drab. He picked three of the same images I did!
It said Boho. & for what I'm NOT, Urban Funk.
Hmm. Mine says I'm Vegas Baby with a touch of Boho. Hmm. I don't particularly like Vegas, but I do like all the pictures it put up to illustrate. And I am gold-leafing everything in the house. So maybe it has a point.
For what I'm not? Nautical and a touch country.
Classic with a touch of Boho. Elegance.
Not at all surprising. But really enjoyed both sites, so much fun :)
The sum of my Sproost quiz can be paraphrased as 'Asian Beachhouse' - which is accurate, I think! I like a little fun with my morning java - thanks AT!
The first one called said my style was "Vegas" (shoot me now) but the second quiz was SPOT ON. Seriously 100% got me. Read me mind. I am going to marry the second quiz!
Urban Funk, and a touch of Sassy. Definitely, though I'm a little bummed that there wasn't any Modern Metro in there as I definitely gravitate toward some of that style as well.
Oh, and on the other two, I come out as Vintage Modern and Modern. I'll definitely take that.
Stylescope gives Boho with a touch of Traveler, and I'd say that's pretty spot-on. (My last room had an unofficial theme of maps and globes and souveniers from around the world.) I quite like Sassy, too. Very UNlike Socialite or Vegas Baby.
From Sproost, I got 100% Zen Style, apparently. I'm not entirely positive about that - I like some of the aesthetic, but I need more COLOUR! Honestly, the five-picture Stylescope hit far closer to the mark...
And finally, my signature lifestyle was Explorer. Sure, why not?
Classic - Traditional Country - Vintage
nothing new there :-)
BoHo-french country-elegance. I have to say on the sproost one, I hated most of the photos...
Stylescope: Spalife with a touch of Boho
Sproost: 80% French Eclectic, 20% Nantucket
Ethan Allen: Romance (?)
Interesting
Traveler, Arts & Crafts (with a side of Vintage Modern), and Explorer. Warm tones, strong colours, beautiful woods, and handmade things from everywhere. Yep, sounds like me!
Fun to try to put a name to things.
HomeGoods: New Country and a touch Classic
Sproost: 100% French Eclectic
Ethan Allen: Played 5 times, got Romance, Elegance, Vintage, Elegance, Romance
Nice to try to put a name to things--it's often easier to know what I don't like than to coherently try to encompass all the things I do like. Putting these three quizzes together, I think I'd call it something like Country Home Vintage Eclectic Grandeur. Natural and neutral tones (greige, greens, blues, whites) with a little drama through dark colors (wood, navy, black) and metallics, comfortable and practical, a mix of clean lines and curves, with a lot of hard-working and non-fussy vintage/antique pieces, equestrian accents, functional for kids and pets and the mess dragged in from spending plenty of time outside.
Like CM, the first quiz didn't get me very well -- I got Vegas Baby with a touch of Boho. I tried it again, and got Vegas Baby with a touch of Sassy. I tried pics I don't like and got Farmhouse Glam. Even when I'm not trying, it's all glamour. Not so much.
I loved the Sproost quiz, though, and got Modern Elegance. And Ethan Allen decided on Romance. Both descriptions were much more me.
Vegas Baby!
Hollywood Couture
Romance
Yeah, they basically got me, lol
