I was one of those kids that was more excited about getting new school supplies than I was about new clothes at the start of each school year. Now, as I take the leap back to being a student, I have notebooks and pencils and rulers on my mind, but considering my only required supply is a MacBook Pro I'll need to find other uses for those trusty supplies. Here's is a fun and easy DIY project using vintage rulers.
Found over at Country Living, this project essentially only requires a table that you want to update, 15-25 different colored but same width yardsticks, some flat head nails and shellac. Of course, you'll also need a small saw, sand paper and a little bit of patience. If you don't want to harm an old side table, it would be an easy way to update a generic IKEA table especially in a child's room.
