Here's an art installation that combines the form of a bed with an subsonic audio immersion experience (think huge laying down on a huge subwoofer and putting it up to "11"). It's hard to tell from videos what the sensation is like, but this person reports the feeling as disconcerting.... [via Unplggd]

very interesting concept, is that where dracula sleeps?

"subsonic audio immersion experience", i.e.: auditory torture chamber...
Looks like a crib.
Is this being sold by the same company that makes hearing aids?
I wish I could remember the name of a local (to R.I.) artist who was doing something very similar about 14 years ago. It was creepy. He had a platform suspended way up from the ceiling of an old warehouse and it had speakers mounted all on the bottom of it. I didn't get to try it out but it looked like an alien communication center or something.
Duncan Laurie!! - Im so glad I remember because I am WAY too young to be forgetful.
When I saw the image, I thought it was a nice box for storing your special Barbies or action toys. Reminds me of a coffin. I'd try it though.
Modern crypt; for the new age, music loving blood sucker. :P
LOOK! Wooden Dry Jacuzzi!
(Those guys make a sweet couple)
i hope it's playing one of those "mega bass" cds from the mid 90s. those always had sweet album art.
Too much potential for torture (Yanni CD?) or brainwashing (I'm old enough to remember when people thought there were buried messages in Beatles music).
Looks like a rubber room without the ceiling.
Could be a cool thing to sleep in, minus the subwoofer. Like a grown-up bassinet with wood bumpers.
