Karim Rashid has infiltrated our lives with his designs for all sorts of domestic items - vacuums, furniture, water, and it's both interesting and revealing to see what he did in his own space.
He likes living with his product designs because it teaches him about how they function in the real world and what can be improved. Overall, the apartment has tons of display storage for his work but squeezes in all the necessary functions.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Makes me want to eat yogurt out of the big family size container.
I like this far better than most of his work, but not a fan of all the retail-esque display cases.
yuk-urt
A bit more pink than I prefer but still awesome. If the floor were black or light gray it would be perfect-o.
Looks too much like a little girl's room. A little design-obsessed girl, that is.
What I want to know is how does a regular person live in a place like this? one speck of dirt on the floor and the whole effect is lost.... If anything is messy, the whole effect is lost....
I'm a HUGE fan of colour (as opposed to beige and tones of beige) so am loving the use of pink as a "neutral" colour.
@misohungry
I agree.
I just looked at the Interior Design images, and I ahve to say, That was fun and delicious, I feel like I have a sugar high from those images.
I'm liking this... I'd tone it down to about 80% of what it is now, but I like it. I've been loving pink lately, but I just finished redoing my 5 year old's room in an explosion of pink and silver, so that may have something to do with it...
I'm digging on this. Its so so so much fun.
It kind of makes me think of Pinkberry! I love the decor but I don't know if I could actually live in the space, I might go crazy. It does seem so fun though... But can you really relax? I do enjoy the photo of the lady with lips apparently pressed against glass in the middle photo.
It is very store like. I just so happen to love store design so...
Looking for a cool space you could decorate like this?

I'm a Real estate pro in Manhattan!
I love it!
a couple cool pieces but over all atrocious, impractical and uncomfortable and if it didn't have a "name" attached i think more would agree.
jsev just took the words (and yogurt) right outta my mouth.
I don't get it? It looks like someone tripped and fell into a barbie house filled with thrown out junk and silly putty turned into furniture.
I love Karim Rashid's work, especially his use of raspberry pinks and blueberry blues! But when I tried using this color combo in my living room a few years back I found it to be so unrestful that I had to return msot of the stuff I'd bought. It's really play ful and fun, but I don't think it translates too well into every day life... at least not for me. But I still love what he's done!
this is completely opposite to what I like in my house, which more closely resembles the cluttered workshop of a Victorian era naturalist, but I do adore it. It looks like the "future"- I am picturing a biomorphic flying car tethered outside the living room window!
I guess it's like living in an idea lab. It certainly does reflect his design aesthetic!
This has been his schtick though for as long as I remember seeing his name. I'm all for personal branding, and artistic consistency, but I'd like to see *some* evolution.
He's rich from it, so the joke's on me I guess.
Really cool looking, but someone actually lives here?
It's wayyyyyyy better than some other apt featured a while ago....
But still the same question..... why isn't a single plant there?
looks like a pinkberry location.
Quel est le mot juste? Hmmm...blech. Unattractive and unlivable.
And my Kitchen Designer looked at me crosseyed when I told him I want a kitchen counter that pink- which I am doing.
yogurt gumballs = this mr. rashid's apartment!
