Karim Rashid has always remained a divisive figure in design, bringing out extreme words of praise or dislike in almost equal amounts. We've loved and hated his designs in equal amounts throughout the years (perhaps indicative of his tendency to go for broke...or just half-step), but we're going to put his newest kitchen appliances designs for Gorenje in the positive response category...

Rashid's incorporation of LED's into the oven and refrigerator handles is admittedly a gimmick of course, but one that is pleasant to the eye and brings a bit of playful interest into a part of the home where appliances have remained mostly serious affairs. A splash of customizable colour is a welcome addition for brightening a room too often neglected from a decor standpoint, especially with energy efficient LED bulbs. But what we love the most is the topographical graphic presentation of the stovetop:

The graphic details continue across the stovetop wherein functionality and decoration find a seamless synergy. So one can customize and light their kitchen effectively and efficiently at the same time. Gorenje's high quality execution of all details and application of durable materials are the final elements making this a memorable collection.

Hence, Gorenje is the first home appliance manufacturer to offer a solution that allows the users to change the colour of their oven or refrigerator exterior. The vertical LED light stripe allows several colour versions, providing the option to adjust the appearance of the appliance to one's current mood, or indeed one's lifestyle. The new innovative collection addresses the more demanding customers, the admirers of excellent design and timeless beauty. The touch of light - now in your kitchen.
