Before we knew if we were having a boy or girl, we knew how we wanted to decorate the nursery. My husband's quirky fascination with garden gnomes inspired the "enchanted forest" theme of the room.
We had recently picked up a set of garden gnomes from our local thrift store, and I was determined to use them in the baby room. Many of our friends and family were skeptical of the idea but once it all came together everyone agreed that it was perfect for the newest Strange.
It was absolutely necessary that we decorate the room on a budget. We set the goal at $500 or less. We purchased the bed (Baby Mod crib from Walmart) and dresser (Ikea) and either handmade or thrifted the other items. I loved the tree stump side table sold by West Elm but knew that the $200 price tag was way out of our budget so a friend of ours found us a stump, and we made our own side table! My husband also made the wall-mounted bookshelves while I crafted all the decorative items in the room. We came in right around our $500 budget, and we were super proud of how everything came together!
Thanks, Jessica! Well done!
