- What I Love About My Small Home:
- How cozy and quaint it is! My husband and I live, work, and even planned a wedding out of this tiny apartment. It is amazing how versatile the space can be while still feeling like home. You really become an anti-hoarder because if one thing is messy the whole apartment looks like a disaster!
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- Storage, visitors, you name it! A full size air mattress literally takes up every bit of floor space we have! We solved these problems by always having a sense of humor, and putting everything up on risers- you would be amazed at how much storage you can squeeze out of nooks and crannies. Our biggest problem has been no space for a coffee, let along a dining room table - we use card tables and eat out a lot!

LOVE IT.
2 people in this teeny tiny space...wow. I like how the decore is nuetral. Like the kitchen too.
265, for two people?!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are either amazingly well organized and efficient, or wizards.
I'm about to move into 285 with my man, this gives me hope that we won't be living in perpetual clutter!
The "Favorite" button isn't working!
Yep- tried to favorite this several times.. no go.
Love how you get use out of every teeny inch. Apartment Therapy, fix the favorite button and count may vote.
Yes, trying to favorite and it's not working!
Very nice use of space. I wondered if there is a door on the bathroom? It appears to be right off the kitchen, and I don't see a door. I like the french doors that close off the sleeping area.
The favorite button is not working! I will check back as I love this space so much. Love the brick wall and your accessorizing. The frames and such over the couch are beautiful. Well done!
All these entries are so inspiring. We live in a 1250 sf house in Texas for two adults and two kids. It's small but I feel like we have more than enough room now! And I like these spaces MORE.
Scrabble pillows FTW!
Apartment Guide/ Apartment Therapy...please do something about the 'favorite' button! It's not working! Anyway, amazing apartment for only 265 sq ft!
Can´t vote for favourite!
Please make this work, such an unfair disadvantage!
noooooooo I WANT TO UPVOTE YOU!!!! :( :( :( THIS IS AMAZING.
Another day, another failed attempt at voting for you, Kate. You are a space-planning, decor wizard.
This doesn't even show up on http://community.apartmenttherapy.com/contests/smallcool/2012 in the latest entries section.
The favorite button works! As of Saturday 4/7
Ack! There was a bug that broke favoriting on this and we only just now found out about it (normally we know within seconds). Very sorry about that everyone!
The good news is that it is fixed!
Favorite on!
Is it just me, or are there an abundance of really awesome small spaces this year? These are not glorified dorm rooms but real spaces where people live and have been thoughtful about what all goes into creating a home in just a few square feet. Is it proof that we're actually living smaller? Hope so. More space just means more room for ugly and uninspired. Small and cool is the way to go.
Is that kitchen really only 3' wide? (or how on earth do you get a fridge and stove/oven next to each other in a space only 3' wide?)
I'm really loving that wine rack on the wall. I can't believe 2 of you fit in this space. Well done.
2 people and even a washer/dryer?! Wow.
Yes, please fix the favorite button
You have a washer and dryer in your apartment that is only 265? Amazing!
I'm in love with your pint-sized kitchen! What a beautiful apartment!
I'm having trouble envisioning where the kitchen is -- the two squares outside the entrance to the bathroom?
I think you have packed an amazing amount of living into a very small space.
The bookcases would drive me nuts with books all directions. Very visually distracting. Have you considered trying to make a faux-front for them?
You've used every single inch in this place so well, that I couldn't even tell this is only 265 sqft!! Nicely done!
I was shocked to see this space was only 265 sf especially after seeing actual doors on the bedroom! Love this space! We are building a guest cabin and need it to be under 300 sf so this will probably be our inspiration since it has everything one would need to live very comfortably!
Love this! My bf and I live in a similarly sized studio, so this is very inspiring. Were the bedroom doors already there when you moved in?
LOVE the sense of style this place has! A definite top fave!
It doesn't look or feel that small! Good job!
Amazing space - wow oh wow. Love the brick, and the window/stained glass window on the wall. I'm confused by the layout though, where is the kitchen? Where is the chair and bookshelf?
Thanks for the comments and compliments! The most important part of our apartment is that we actually LIVE in it so it has to be super functional as well as beautiful (I hope) and fun! I can literally stand in the "kitchen" and reach everything in it so we really had to decide what we loved and just had to have.
LOVE your space- I don't understand why it has so few votes!
