- What I Love About My Small Home:
- I love my little gargoyle nest because it has forced me to re-evaluate what I really need to be happy and comfortable. The view that I share with the gargoyles outside my window keeps me from feeling claustrophobic. The entire city is an extension of my little nest, and I have a view from every angle of the apartment, sometimes looking through several archways to the outside.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- The biggest challenge was photographing my nano-size abode for this contest! I couldn't step back far enough to show the space without falling out a window, so please understand the limitations.
The next biggest challenge was that I didn't want to feel like I live in a bedroom (although that's exactly what this space was in a former life). With the addition of 17 arches my ho-hum square white bedroom now has defined spaces for different activities, yet it's still open and flowing. I used bright contrasting paint colors to create the sense that there are a lot of rooms to explore without blocking the view. After living here 7 years, I've never been bored, and always feel like I have plenty of space to wander around in.
