What I Love About My Small Home:
We lucked out by getting a top floor, corner unit apartment in a beautiful, old apartment building. Our two favorite things about our apartment are the ample windows and the location of our building. The windows are great because living in Seattle we appreciate any indoor sunshine that we can get. We feel so lucky. Additionally, the location of our building is fantastic. We live in a vibrant neighborhood, on the edge of downtown. It is a short walk to Pike Place Market, close to restaurants and bars in Capitol Hill, and within a few minutes of the downtown retail core.
Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
Our most notable challenge was storage. In particular, storing our collection of instruments was difficult. We have a banjo, a dulcimer, multiple guitars, and a keyboard, among other things. Although we have a large closet, it stores inventory for our online vintage clothing shop, so the space is limited, making it difficult to also fit our instruments. We decided to solve this problem by featuring the instruments mounted on the wall as artwork. This was a great storage solution.
