Using tile can be a great way to add pattern in unexpected places in your home - especially when it is gorgeous, narrative-inspired handmade tile that evokes a cool summer day in Cuba or Morocco. Today's One Minute Tip comes from Katie Deedy of Grow House Grow.
• The Star: Katie Deedy grew up with a love of books that just never seemed to fade. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and daughter, and runs her hand-printed wallpaper business Grow House Grow out of her kitchen. She has created numerous original wallpaper designs, and has recently begun to offer a line of tile and fabric designs as well.

LOL, "cool summer day in Cuba"! Do they exist???
This is just an ad. It would help if we saw room examples where the tile was used. Then it would be a better ad.
I like Katie Deedy's stuff a lot, but this is really just an ad. The only idea in the video is 'buy my lovely tiles'.
Seriously? Come on, AT.
(meaning that I'm annoyed, as others seem to be, about this ad-disguised-as-tip)
Lame attempt to push your latest darling, Katie Deedy.
By the way, could you implant the videos into the regular feed like my 15 yr old does on his blog?
Ouch, fellows, ok, we hear you. That said, while ad-like, it wasn't intended as a soft sell, but simply as a fun and informative intro to the world of tile via Katie.
Have a little faith in us, and take what you need from any and all of our videos and posts. We're just having fun sharing all of this new stuff with you.
stop plugging this girl on AT.
Someone holding up tiles doesn't do much as far as informing. How about some more education as in...if "intricate" works better in a small space why not show us why? Describe the theory behind it. And saying the pigment goes down 1/4 of the way so it will last??? Really??? Maybe it is more appropriate to say it won't fade. Pigment has nothing to do with clay tiles lasting outside by the pool as she suggested. Pretty sure they would still get water in the pores, freeze and expand in some climates. That's the kind of advice designers give without thinking about it or consulting at the expense of their clients pocket book.
This was particularly useless, sorry.
