What I Love About My Small Home:
I love finding ways to make our small home fun and functional for myself and my four year old son, Kahlil. Friends and family enjoying hanging out in our bright, airy loft built on top of our neighbor’s three car garage. The hardwood floors, a huge plus, make cleaning up after a spunky preschooler a breeze. Located across the street from a beautiful marina, park, restaurants, comic book and record store, it truly is a perfect place for this dynamic duo.
Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space:
While the rest of the space is one big open room, the bedroom is separated by a bulky semi-wall with big cubby holes on each side meant for entertainment centers. They seemed pointless until I started using them for what small spaces need most –- storage! With only one closet in the entire loft, I converted one cubby hole into a pantry and the other into a second closet. The great thing about the semi-wall is that there are windows at the top to keep the air and light flowing through as well as built in shelves that we use for more storage.
