Keep An Eye Out For: Vintage Telephone Stands

As a housewarming gift recently, a friend of ours gave a mutual friend a vintage telephone stand she picked up from the Long Beach Flea Market. She liked the find so much that before our day was done shopping at the flea market, she picked up one for herself to take home (and for $15 a piece, it felt like a steal).

We love the look of the first telephone stand pictured--lots of room for corralling magazines, books and home decor items. The second stand pictured is identical to the one our friend bought (and usually the one most often spotted at flea markets and thrift stores). As an alternative, you can spray paint them any color you'd like to match your homes interior. We also like the third image for its heightened retro feel--not to mention the sleek, almost minimal nature of all the telephone stands pictured. Borrowing an image from Laurie Pike's House Tour, this magazine rack (with an ash tray on top) may originally have been a telephone stand before its transformation.
