Throughout July, we'll be posting "Adventures and Outings," reader submissions filled with great tips and ideas for traveling with children. Want to join in? Click here for all the info.

Names: Kellen (2.5) and Maya (8 months)
Location: Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA
Favorite Family-Friendly Place To See or Thing To Do Here: Golden Gate Park - hit up the California Academy of Sciences (be sure to arrive in time for the 10:30am Penguin feeding) and then go burn some energy at the Children's Playground. The cement slides and carousel were a big hit!

Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Be flexible and patient!!! That was our mantra the whole trip (road trip with a 2.5 year old and 8 month old btw!).

Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: Sound machine and favorite blankets to replicate their sleeping environment at home...sleep deprivation on vacation is no good!

An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: Ergo, baby! We used it with both kids and it allowed me to nurse the baby easily while we were out and about exploring the city.

Thanks Angie!
