Name: Kelly B.
Location: Claremont, California
Size: 250 square feet
Your Favorite Thing About Your Outdoor Space: The papasan chairs/chiminea area. Or my 6 foot vintage glider. And my cactus succulent collection. We moved here from San Francisco, and I've never had an outdoor space before, or a place for plants. It's amazing and relaxing. I kinda love it all.
Biggest Design Challenge With This Space: Coming up with a plan for outdoor living in SoCal while trying to stay cool. But there weren't too many challenges. I love our outside space. Other than spiders. Claremont California should really be made spider capitol of the world.
Tips for Creating a Great Small Outdoor Space: We focused on color, items we love and keeping everything in style with our home, even though I have mixed every style there is. I tried to create lounge areas that blend into each other while still giving privacy. And a place for big friends and family dinners, since our apartment is so small. We have distinct areas with their own heat sources for privacy if you want it.
Thanks, Kelly, and good luck!
