Way back during our first week, we wrote about Stephanie Munson and Bruce Tharp (aka Materious, based here in Chicago) and their second Best in Show win from DWR's Modern + Design + Function: Chicago Furniture Now competition.
The two consecutive wins - for Cubby this year and 2005's Progeny - celebrate a design concept that keeps people connected in their households to their things and to each other.
In a recent article in the Chicago Reader, we learned that the Cubby, by popular demand, is now available at Orange Skin for $90.
Materious designs functional objects with kids in mind (but not exclusively for kids). A single Cubby would be equally as great for one person as it would be in a collection for an entire family.
We love the Cubby.

I love the Cubby too, but $90 is waaaay too much for this broke student. le sigh.
for real - $90 for a hunk of plastic?
well-designed plastic, but still... man.
be creative -
go to home depot and find out if there are plumbing/ duct materials that are a lookalike for the design. i am just going to do that.
90 bucks ??? i will put 40 bucks more and buy a ticket for paris
