Even if you don't have any summer birthdays to celebrate, summer itself is a great reason to throw a little bash. The kids are home from school and the sun stays out later. If your budget isn't allowing for a vacation this year, throw a party or two at home:We found this great slideshow at My Recipes.com
• Have an outdoor movie night. This one is always a hit. We love their idea of setting up a "Popcorn Bar with some add-ins or different flavors of popcorn.
• Have a Family Game Night. Break out all of those games you haven't played in a while and add plenty of snacks.
• A Buggy Birthday Bash that includes a giant burger recipe big enough to feed everyone at the party.
• Have a Kid-friendly Fiesta complete with frozen Mock-a-Ritas.
The recipes are the focal point here, but they're also a great jumping off point for any celebration- large or small. A few of our own ideas: a water party complete with sprinklers, water balloons and wading pools on a really hot day; a "fresh" party that celebrates all of the yummy fruits and veggies of the season; or how about a bubble party with lots of different kinds of bubbles and kids get to make their own blowers?
