We have a serious thing for concrete in bathrooms. We love it's look and feel and ease to clean, but when we found out that the hot new item was fiber optic bathrooms for kids — well we won't lie, we kind of squealed out loud.
We mentioned JM Lifestyles awhile back over at Apartment Therapy Chicago, where they made a countertop that appeared to be woodgrain for a kitchen, but was in fact concrete! Well they're back with a new sneak peek at a recent bathroom that was done for a kids space that features built in night lights, or rather, fiber optic cables.
While this sort of thing is usually done in bars and entertainment venues, JM Lifestyles tells us that their next biggest audience is for kids! The fiber optics that get embedded in the concrete before it hardens act as night lights for little ones. It makes the bathroom a little brighter, adds a bit of sparkle and a whole lot of fun. In this vanity, the lights shine on top of the counter as well as two blocks of concrete on either side, how cool!?
Is this something you'd ever consider for a kids space? Let us know in the comments below!
