Name: Kiley
Location: Cape Cod, Massachusetts
I moved into my 370 sq ft Cape Cod cottage after several years in NYC, so the small footprint wasn't an issue -- but the lack of noise and the abundance of bugs were! When I first moved in, I wanted to avoid the typical coastal style trap, while acknowledging that I indeed live in a cottage on the Cape.
I started out with not much more than a lot of books and a few vintage chairs, but was able to furnish the whole place cohesively with thrifted or family-gifted pieces (and of course a few IKEA staples!). Over the course of the year that I've been here, I've seen my style evolve toward the end of the "cottage" spectrum, but with my trademark shot of eclectic glamour that makes visitors describe my place as something like a "Parisian spa cabin" or a "Brooklyn brownstone on the beach".
Thanks, Kiley!

I love how bright and airy it is! Where is that great wood and white chair from? Backyard set ups with white tablecloths are so magical!
Thanks! I think you mean the vaguely mid-century chair in the "parlor"? It's actually a sea-foam green vinyl if you can believe it. I got it on Craigslist Brooklyn from the same apartment that the round wicker and wire chair in the bedroom came from!
I love the paint colors on the wall and wood trim. What are they?
I love it. I was born on Cape Cod, and I live in a tiny space, so this really speaks to me. Very quaint and stylish. And your floors are fantastic!
Lovely! I love the desk, too! Thank you for sharing. :)
I love it. This was one of my favorite from the Small Cool contest. I'm always dreaming about moving to the cape and living small.
I LOVED this place during Small Cool. Can we get a full house tour?
Oh! Missed this somehow (don't worry though, I never voted on Small Cool as I'm of the mind that competitions are destructive!) Very lovely. Always appreciate a floorplan in these cases but I suppose there was on on the former post?
The mirror in the first picture... did she put a bird on it?
Your place is so cute. Really like your bookshelf.
I'm very jealous you live on the island. I have family in Edgartown and my favorite part of growing up was visiting them on Martha's Vineyard - best lobster ever! I also love your little cottage! ;-)
Can I come visit? Wonderful place. I adore your desk!
Let's see a full tour!
Has so many distinct areas for 370 sq ft. What a great sense of composition!
Thanks everyone! We're working on a full Tour. @Star Princess: The walls are Mineral by Martha Stewart, but I'm not sure about the trim -- it was there when I moved in, I just scrubbed it to make it shine. @Annie-O: Yes there was a floor plan on the Small, Cool post. Will probably include it in the House Tour because it does kind of make one laugh. @Sam I Am: LOLZ. I did put a bird on the antlers over the mirror -- they are each a symbol of my two grandfathers that I've been repping since before the trend, so I'm hoping to ride it out. I also put birds on the chandelier!
Definitely want to see a tour on this one.
Totally charming! Love the combination of colors and elements and the backyard dining scene is the icing on the cake. Cottages tug at my heartstrings, even though I've never lived in one.
Ditto on looking forward to the full house tour down the road, yes! :)
Adorable! Great desk and office accessories arrangement. Thanks for sharing:)
