- Inspiration for my palette:
- I wanted the space to feel feminine and edgy.
- Colors used in my room
- Light Gray, Charcoal Gray, Fuscia, White, Neutrals
- Tips for using color successfully
- I like using intense colors against neutrals. The contrast can actually give a calming effect. Using color is similar to a choreographed dance. Colors have to flow and balance with one another to showcase beautifully. Have fun with it!

I dig your intense and neutral vibe. Love the corrugated metal and grey paint in the kitchen.
Is the light fixture a simple bunch of Edison bulb pendants that you had wired together or was it sold like that in one unit? Does anyone have a source?
This is incredible! Just enough statement to fill the room and capture interest without totally overwhelming it. Love it.
Just wow for the living room part! The pic on the wall is really different. I like it.
Most definitely feminine and most definitely edgy. I LOVE it!! It looks something that I would attempt and never come close to accomplishing. Thanks for sharing it, you got my vote!
I'm sorry, are we only supposed to like things here?
I'll say it again . . . guns are not whimsical or edgy.
Love the Sam Flores mural :)
I dig the Sam Flores..did you print it large format and paste it?

Sam Flores! so is this just a wall decal of sorts?
That ceiling is badass
Agree with Griffin.
Isn't it awesome? This is actually a wall decal. I loved the butterflies being shot off of the gun. Very pretty with an artistic edge. It was perfect for the space!
No, we are not only supposed to like things here. But the people who post here obviously like it. You on the other hand only post to complain about people liking something and not enough negative comments.
And that gun is shooting BUTTERFLIES! It's a manga/comic/fantasy kind of thing and yes, I kind it whimsical and edgy, especially in that colour combination. I looked closer at this post because of that picture and because it gives the room a special atmosphere that I can't really describe.
Wow! Very cool use of color.
I'm renovating my Manhattan studio the Fall and was planning on using the very same palette! Can you let me know what pink and which greys you used? I tried to "Chip It" but the colors were browns and reds, weird. Thanks!
Since when is pink considered 'warm'?
Absolutely LOVE this!!
I like the room but I think it is more"cool" than warm in both sense of the word.
Griffin, I loathe guns as much as the next person, but I think you're failing to look at context. Look at the mural again - the woman wearing a mask, the gun is shooting butterflies. I know this isn't a forum for interpretation of modern art, but isn't it obvious that this is more than just an interior decorator thinking guns are "edgy?"
I agree this is not a warm space, in color or in mood. But I like the balance - it's far edgier than I would ever go, but I think it works. The only thing I regret is the warm red brick with the cool pinks and greys. Do you own? Could you paint?
