I've dreamed of owning a blue velvet sofa for about as long as I can remember. But as a self-professed neat freak with a white fluffy dog — I have a feeling it would end badly. So its only leather couches for me, but it doesn't mean a girl can't dream! This is my version of my dream living room, based entirely around my blue velvet sofa.

My grandma had a wicker swinging chair and it was the best chair ever. I hope you get your dream living room someday...perhaps someone will invent velvet that repels dog hair. It could happen.
I'm with you on that rattan hanging chair. Always wanted one too but the ceilings in my condo are 'sloped' so it would be hard to hang it where I wanted it.
I guess I could get a stand for it. (?) :O)

I want a blue velvet sofa so very badly! Or that rich fuchsia, that's amazing, also. It's just so glam and luxurious, but you can do so much with it in any given space. dress it up or down.. go all out glam or surround it in neutrals.. sigh, one day we will both have our dream sofas!
Thank God that is waaaaay out of my price range. I'd be tempted to dump by almost brand new sofa.... Drool....
That pet-peeve post comment section has officially ruined me for AT. All I see when I look at this "living room inspiration" are various pet-peeves squished together to create a room. It's a hilarious, if rather unexpected result.

Loving that blue sofa and the hanging rattan chair..they both look really good with that diamond patterned rug.
I know exactly how you feel! I so wanted a navy blue sofa, and I finally bit the bullet and ordered one from mitchell and gold when they were having a sale. Now that we have the sofa, we have to wait a little to finish the room, but it makes me happy every single day! Go for it when you can!!
