I got a ton of great advice from all of you readers on my before photos but unfortunately, am pretty limited on the amount of actual rearranging I can do. Constraints like limited outlets, rental restrictions, the locations of doorways and windows and a general lack of space means doing a serious shuffle is out of the question.
That said, it is great to get a real sense of the space and the options that are available to me. We calculated that the living room is 168 square feet and the apartment itself is only 338. While I wish that I had a little more space (and a kitchen, a real kitchen), I have to admit that they packed a lot into a pretty small footprint when the apartment was designed. Because my options are limited and everything is out in the open, I plan on working to streamline what I can and relying on visual tricks to open up the space and make it feel cohesive and finished.
