Over the last couple of steps I've chosen a color palette and stylistic direction, and had a lot of fun pinning options and inspiration to my Style Cure Pinboard. Now it's time to start the shift from concept to completion with a shopping day.
Because I've chosen to bring in color through a large upholstered piece one of the first things I did was start to look at fabric options. I've narrowed it down to two favorites and ordered swatches of each so I can see how they actually look and feel before placing an order. Next up was to start gathering supplies for the project; I plan on using a precut piece of plywood for the foundation of my piece and will be visiting Home Depot over the weekend to pick it up along with the mounting hardware. I also need to get 2" foam, batting, and spray adhesive all of which I was able to find pretty easily on Amazon.
The "pairing" that I chose for the Style Cure was a pair of mismatched nightstands with a cohesive feel. I've chosen this one for my side of the bed and we've decided to go with a simple tree stump side table for the other side. I would love to DIY the second option and am looking into local resources, so if anyone has any suggestions for how I might procure a dry, bug and rot free stump in the Bay Area, all suggestions are welcome. If all else fails, there are a wealth of premade options on Etsy, and this version from West Elm.
