I own teal bowls, scarves, plant pots, shoes, blouses, and bedside tables. For one reason or another, what I don't have is a room painted in this, my favorite color.
To me, teal is the perfect moody color with a lot of depth and versatility; the photos above show a darker teal used in a bathroom, a common area, two bedrooms, and kitchen.
I like that teal can skew blue or green, and I prefer it combined with bright white and warm-colored wood. Add some fresh green houseplants, and I am right at home. (Sounds like I need to start painting, huh?)
Are you a fan of teal? Is there a color you find yourself drawn to again and again?

i did teal on our living room wall as an accent. we love it and it adds a nice pop of color with browns & reds we have in the room.
JUST purchased Benjamin Moore Deep Ocean. I am right there with you on this. I can't wait to bathe my walls in this gorgeous shade.
Absolutely beautiful!
I happen to love this color. It's so beautiful and inviting. I happen to like the way it looks featured in each of these rooms. Lovely.
my living room has two walls painted teal (turquoise?) with a bright orange and white floral printed chair. I'm still kind of unsure what color rug to put in there, but i love love love the color of the walls. (behr's beach towel)
Anyone know the name of the paint in the first picture of the bathroom?
jy196 - I think it might be Glidden Peacock Blue.
Aw, this is the color I want to paint our kitchen, except that it's a little too dark with our medium toned wood cabinets. Whenever we get around to remodeling the kitchen, I'm putting in white cabinetry and painting this color on the walls.
My kitchen is carribean teal from Benjamin Moore and I love it! It makes the ugly green countertop less ugly :D not to mention that it's such a delight to look at.
I painted the common areas of my home this color (a little lighter) and I am in absolute love. I made light boxes out of a gorgeous fabric (the pattern is called Pisces) and I just love it!
Reflecting Pool from Ralph Lauren is everywhere in my house. Gorgeous color!
That first bathroom is fab. I want a teal room!
Love. We have a teal dining room and I love it to tears.
LOVE teal...or for that matter, any sort of blue-green. It just beckons to me. I just want to lay down and take a long nap in picture 4.
@jy196 - The paint color is actually "Realm" by Behr. This bathroom redo was featured on Design*Sponge a while back and immediately fell in love with it (I'm determined to paint our foyer this color!), so I paid close attention when the bathroom's owner posted the paint color in the comments. :)

I love that colour! I think I've also spotted my mystery wish-list houseplant hanging in that first picture. Please, if you know what it's called, put me out of my misery and tell me.
i love teal!
@acrossthepond: that looks kind of like a string of pearls succulent
@Across the Pond, I don't quite remember the proper botanical name (senecio something) but the common name of this succulent is String of Pearls. Just google "string of pearls plant" and you should find it easily.
Ooh, you star, MisaL! That's the plant I've been looking out for, for 20 years!!! Thank you!
Oh no! I just googled it and it's not the same plant but it's still really cool. Thanks anyway!
So funny to see my bathroom on apt. therapy! For all those who wanted to know the paint color: it is Realm by Behr.
Thanks for all the kind words!
hessilou and literaghost - thank you both for answering my question
I love this color too. It's so dramatic and moody and jewel like. I have a coat that color, a blouse and a some beautiful pottery also that color. I finally made the plunge and painted a bedroom caribbean sea or something like t hat from Behr paints. It looks gorgeous and my bed pops with white linen.
I've been obsessed with this color for years (which my wardrobe proves), but nothing in my apartment is this color! How can this be?! This must be remedied...
I'd been thinking of doing three of the five walls in my bedroom a blueberry or plum color, but you may have convinced me to go teal. I certainly am bookmarking this for color suggestings!
I love this color. I painted two of the walls in my studio "Moonlight Pool" by Behr and the other two sage green. I love the drama it provides. (Pics of the room here) http://currykaydesigns.com/2010/06/something-lovely-for-my-supplies/
I love all the blue-greens, from aqua on down to teal, and think they are such a popular color family it might be due to some genetic programming! Who knows?
I was delighted to visit Turkey and find my favorite color everywhere, including on the tiled walls of many mosques and palaces. Green is the holy color of Islam (I'm told it's because plants are so loved in dry and desert places -- beautiful idea, don't know if it's true), but the color is interpreted as more turquoise than green in Turkey. In fact the word "turquoise" means "Turkish" in French.
I love turquoise and teal especially in glazes and pottery, where the color is mottled rather than uniform; it can glow like a jewel, which doesn't happen with solid-color painted walls. I like it combined with dark carved wood and lots of white stucco, and maybe a few faded red or coral accents.
We did our entryway in a lighter teal, and we just love it! It makes anything you put on the wall just leap out at you. Great color.
I adore the darker teal and white combo. I have it in my dining room and it instantly looked better. Add in the damask pattern wallpaper and it's fabulous. teal really makes art pop too.
I love it and it's on my walls (as featured on AT's house tour "Casey's Loft Life"
Love the use of reclaimed wood and bold colors.

Any suggestions on upholstery fabric in this colour? I live in Canada and I've been looking for over a year!
