Guy-Friendly Kindle Cases

My husband and I are now a two Kindle household, after his misdirected Christmas gift finally arrived in the mail last month. My older Kindle is white and protected by a pink silicone skin; my husband's is black and as yet unprotected by anything because I wanted to wait for him to select the case of his choice. We've been shopping for a case for a few weeks now- here are a few of our favorites.

This M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket contains an integrated theater-stand that allows for easy hands-free reading in either portrait or landscape mode. This case also has a specially designed pocket for an e-Luminator Booklight, and two large pockets that can be used to store a variety of items like a charging cable or a pair of reading glasses.

The Cole Haan Hand-Stained Pebble Grain Leather Kindle Cover is made of hand-stained, pebble grain leather and looks oh so good. Not a great option for travel as it doesn't have storage space for cables or anything else, this is a stylish option for Kindle owners who crave the traditional look and feel of a leather-bound book.

The Kindle Lighted Leather Cover incorporates a reading light right in the cover, one that draws its power from the Kindle iself- no batteries necessary. The unique hinge system conducts electricity from the Kindle's battery to the reading light using gold-plated hinge points to make the electrical connection.

The Belkin Vue Kindle Sleeve offers a custom fit with a zipper closure and an expandable, see-through pocket for accessories. This neoprene sleeve features a slim profile with a reinforced panel to protect the screen and a soft lining to keep the Kindle free of scratches. ($30)

The Marware Eco-Flip Kindle Case features an innovative elastic hand strap system and a soft charcoal microfiber interior. The hand strap helps hold the Kindle securely while walking, exercising, or lounging around, and the case also has an inner storage pocket that's great for cards or cash and a non-slip interior safety tab that locks the Kindle safely in place. Finally this case is made of eco-leather, leather created using a tanning process that uses fewer toxins than traditional leather tanning to minimize toxic runoff. ($35)
