While we love pristine white kitchens as much as the next blog, it's fun to explore all the colors of the rainbow when searching for kitchen inspiration.
One of my favorite looks is a muddy gray unexpectedly paired with gold hardware. Another standout is the olive green below a sky blue wall — which is an unusual color combination that works so well because of the dirty nature of both tones. Lastly, I love how loud yellow cabinets balance out large scale black and white wallpaper.

No. 8 is so my inspiration for my yellow cabinet in my kitchen! http://community.apartmenttherapy.com/contests/smallcool/2011/entries/903
Love 1, 2, and 5. Would probably really like the rest if the bright color had been constrained to the lower cabinet. Do not like 7 at all. Chartreuse cabinets w/ orangish backsplash? My eyes hurt.
my eyes hurt...how can you cook in those bright neon kitchens???
I love colourful kitchens. That includes cabinetry, but I decided against it in my own home.We have two kitchens.I have thought of moving what is upstairs downstairs at a later date.I am just not so sure how much investment I want to make.Everything dates.Sometimes very quickly and this is an expensive 'look'.
I really adore no.10.I would change a few details.Fixtures and window dressing, that sort of thing.Maybe not the red/black cabs/counter.We have white cabs and black counter now.I worked in the red other ways.My kitchen is more modern.
The bones of this design I am in love with.It was too expensive to go this way during my reno.I spent a ton on construction.Next time I will be able to spend differently.
I'll be saving this for later reference. It will be interesting to see how feasible this might be later. Will it stand the test of time?I am not so sure.People seem to be allergic to colour at the expense of other things.
My friend just bought a house in our neighbourhood. The kitchen/bath cinched the deal for her.Construction is bad.Even the home inspector was tricked.I know she wouldn't have even consider something with a kitchen like these. When she's done she is going to be lucky if what she has now is usable.Looked posh and elegant. She paid for a fur coat ,no knickers.
Would other people do the same?If a kitchen and bath had excellent construction, would you consider accepting these decors?
Any answers would be appreciated.
The chartreuse is my favorite. I've always loved that color, but I know few others do.
Loved this post, but I noticed one color that was missing and AT even posted about it in the past: purple!

That purple kitchen is 'fabulous'!
Another keeper for me.This is just the kind of input I'm searching for regarding wow coloured cabs and counter. It would be very easy for someone to go classic white if they didn't like the purple.
Great kitchen.
hello123, I also adore it! I'm surprised it didn't make the cut!
I like no. 1 and have been considering it for my kitchen redo. However, I'm still holding out for the cream upper and pale robin/slate blue lower cabinet combo.
Also love no. 10 and wish I had the pad to do this in.
i love no 8.. but i wish an apple green color for my kitchen.
I can't believe I'm about to say this but I LOVE that purple kitchen. Never in a million years would I have thought a purple kitchen could look classy but that one pulls it off so well.
Kateliz, Exactly!
