Hello, kitty. Kindergarten Wolfartsweier is located in Karlsruhe, Germany. The cat-shaped kindergarten was designed by artist Tomi Ungerer in collaboration with architect Ayla Suzan Yöndel. Just wait until you see the back of the building, after the jump.

The cat's tail is a slide that leads outside. Students come in through the mouth, and the coat room, classrooms, dining room and staircase are in the cat's belly. The main room is the cat's head.
We discovered this school thanks to Milk Magazine. Read more about it there, or visit the Kindergarten Wolfartsweier online.

And is that an exit door under the cat's tail where the...well....exit is?
looks a wee bit like Piper from No Kiss for Mother. Happy!
That looks terrifying to me. Creative, but as someone who was scared to death of sock monkeys, this just makes me uneasy. Those cold, dead eyes...and they would glow at night....
Oh, oh---that second story slide is amazing. Reminds me of the parents who put a real firehouse pole in their house so the kids could skip the stairs if they wanted.
@mimee25---you made me laugh. I was a bit freaked about sock monkeys myself, when I was a lass.
Holy cow, that is adorable!
Thats fantastic!
Germany has so many amazing kids spaces, even as a childless adult I was envious of their playgrounds. Now I would love to take my kids there.
