Christopher Henry Gallery hosted a booth for artist Olek at SCOPE, one of the satellite shows around Art Basel in Miami. As you can see, Olek made use of every square inch by blanketing the entire space in crochet.
Olek will cover any available surface in the craft, including her car and herself. She watches movies while doing this, and often incorporates influences from what she sees into her work, including text messages received from friends. In her room at the show, she sat crocheting in a full-body suit surrounded by a living environment completely engulfed in crochet. Passersby were invited to enter this world and try it out for themselves. There were even outfits available for the brave, but unfortunately no rides in her crochet-covered convertible.
