Name: Knox (3 weeks)
Location: Raleigh, NC
Color Inspiration: My color inspiration for this space started with the bold pop of yellow I used on the vintage dresser turned changing table. I knew I wanted a more modern feel to the room and was really trying to stay away from primary colors or anything overly theme-y. The gray walls provided the perfect serene backdrop for the other more neutral elements but the yellow dresser really takes center stage and served as the jumping off point for all other accent pieces.
Tip for Using Color: A little goes a long way! I think it's easy to get overly matchy-matchy with things, especially when you've established a color palette and are out shopping. I used a good amount of white and black accents to counterbalance the strength of that yellow and provide the eye with a nice resting place as you look around the room.
Colors Used: Benjamin Moore Silvery Moon on the Walls; Benjamin Moore Bold Yellow on the changing table; Black, white and blue accents
Thanks for your colorful entry Dina and good luck!

I just voted for the first time in this contest. The dresser did it for me. Wow!
Cute dresser. And I love the abacus as art. Genius! Where is the yellow footstool/ottoman from? I really like it.
cute, cute, cute!!! I voted to send it on....I'm crazy for the piping on that glider!!!
Love it! Could you provide info on the rug source? I'm looking for a calm but not boring rug and it seems that you've found it.
Hi guys! The rug is from West Elm and the yellow Moroccan pouf is from John Derian but you can find it a few places. Overstock even has some in other colors at some incredible prices. Thanks so much for the nice comments!
Love the elephant hooks - are they one-of-a-kind?
Those paintings were done by Raleigh artist Keith Norval, my husband! www.keithnorval.com
Super cute - love the yellow!!! It's so bright and cheery!
Love love love love love it! Coming from an interior designer I think you did a knock out job! I love how you used pieces that can easily grow with the child. The neutral colors mixed with the bright stand out colors and an excellent combo...all around totally fab!
Love it! This is exactly the color scheme I'm planning for my future nursery. Mind sharing the sources for the glider and the crib linens?
Knox's mom here again. Thank you all for the support! The brass elephant hooks are a vintage find via Etsy. The glider was an eBay find that I had reupholstered and the crib bedding was largely DIY because despite some exhaustive searching, I couldn't find cute, non-girly yellow & gray bedding. I made the bumpers and the skirt. The fitted sheet is by Dwell Studio.
You got my vote Dina! Amazing job! Want a job designing my bedroom???
Oh, no wonder I couldn't place when Keith did those paintings! They aren't by him- they're knock offs! I feel so silly.
Love the yellow, love the dresser and pouf, jealous of the Jonathan Adler giraffe lamps...and tell me where you got the b/w poster that spoofs British bus route signs...we have the real deal in our office and it would be hilarious to put that up in our son's room...
I love it! Please share where you got the print on the top shelf. Thanks!
Oh my goodness. Adorable room! Makes me wish I hadn't done my son's room in typical blues! PLEEEEEASE share where you got that bus-stop inspired print on the shelf! (first stop eat, etc) So cute! Definitely voted for you to move on to the next round!
Thank you all! The bus roll print is from Etsy seller MySweetPrints.

Now this is FANTASTIC!! Kudos
How regal - I love it all!
I've been trying to find an abacus for my nursery. Where did you get yours from?
